The sixth annual Kinks, Locks & Twists: Environmental and Reproductive Justice Conference runs tomorrow through Sunday at Carnegie Mellon University.

The conference, hosted by New Voices Pittsburgh, is meant to “explore the dynamic relationship between the health and well-being of our bodies, communities and the ecosystems in both a local and global context.”

The program features expert-led workshops on issues including safe cosmetics, fracking and urban farming, and their impact on the lives of women of color everywhere.

Speakers and presenters include Ashlee Davis, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture; Leslie Fields, of the Sierra Club; Ogonnaya Dotson-Newman of WE ACT for Environmental Justice; Kimberly Inez McGuire, of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health and Women’s Voices for the Earth; and Jacqui Patterson, of the NAACP.

The conference also includes a vendor marketplace, the Women’s Health and Wellness Expo!, networking and more.
