Pennsylvania delegation says Obama's DNC speech will "lead us into the future"

If you were to think of the Democratic National Convention like a rock concert Bill Clinton's Thursday night speech wthe night before President Obama accepts the nomination is a lot like The Who opening up for The Rolling Stones. It might be hard to top.

But members of the Pennsylvania delegation told reporters this morning that Clinton's “masterful” speech might be hard for anyone to top. Well, almost anyone.

“If I were to pick anyone to come out and try to top what President Clinton did last night, the only person I could pick would be Barack Obama,” said Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski.

Pawlowski was joined by state Sen. Daylin Leach and Democratic Congressional candidate Matthew Cartwright to meet with reporters in Charlotte and on a conference call to put a bow of sorts on Clinton's convention speech and talk a little about what they think Obama needs to do in his nomination acceptance tonight.

Bill Clinton came out and set up the platform for the Democratic Party,” says Leach. “He laid it out artfully, crystallizing the stark differences between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

“Tonight it will be up to the President to lead us into the future. It will almost be a State of the Union Address. The President can come out and lay out his agenda and that's something the Republican didn't do. Presdient Clinton cleared the way for the Presidnet to say here are the problems and here are the solutions.”
