Free, convenient parking in the city is something we all strive for and for one day only you can reserve a parking space. You just can’t park a car in it.
Friday Sept. 21 is (Park)ing Day in the city of Pittsburgh and the local event is part of a larger International one to get people thinking about the value of urban parks and green space in the community.
The idea is to reserve a parking space and for one day turn it into functional park space. According to the release from organizers Park(ing) Day, “helps keep people mindful of parks, recreation and the built environment.”
There will also be a design workshop at 6 p.m. Monday Sept. 10 at the Rothschild Doyno Collaborative, 2847 Penn Avenue, in the Strip. Register for the workshop by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
