I'm a little busy and a little behind, so we're gonna make this quick. Here's what you'll do this weekend:

Tonight (Friday) there's a benefit show for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at The Shop in Bloomfield. It's got Donora, and Landline, and Pet Clinic, and DJ Gordy G, and it's $15 and it goes to a good cause AND ... ready? IF YOU'RE OVER 21 YOU GET FREE BEER. I thought that would make the decision for you.

Elsewhere tonight: at Club Cafe, the transman/woman acoustic duo Coyote Grace plays the early show (I Short Listed them last time they came through); Mates of State play at Mr. Smalls, and locals Bear Cub release an album at Thunderbird.

Tomorrow night, my favorite dude, Daniel Higgs, plays a corn roast at or near Morning Glory Coffeehouse in Morningside, accompanied by a slew of other acts including the new solo act of another ex-Lungfish player, Asa Osborn. Diesel plays host to Blitzen Trapper (the most hyped band of the past few weeks)

And last but not leasty, Sunday night at Gooski's is Lungs, playing with a couple of locals, Twin Towers and Bigg Slurpp.
