Oh no, not again: Another cop accused of domestic abuse back in the news

Jesus Christ.

Local media outlets are now reporting that a Pittsburgh Police detective, Bradley Walker, allegedly accosted a Pittsburgh motorist yesterday, pulling his gun and trying to choke the other driver in a fit of road rage following a minor accident:

Police said Walker, who was not on duty, got out of his vehicle to confront the other driver, Jarret Fate, 29, of Pittsburgh.

Police said Walker struck Fate’s driver’s side door with his hand and foot and then punched out the driver's side windshield and side window, breaking both.Walker then reached into the vehicle and choked Fate, police said. Fate tried to get away but Walker jumped back into his vehicle and cut him off, police said. Then, Walker pulled an automatic pistol and pointed it at Fate, police said.

I probably hardly need to say this by now, but Walker has previously faced accusations of domestic violence -- charges which were later dropped, provided Walker take anger management lessons. Maybe a refresher course is in order?

Back in 2007, we were assured that Walker was going to be on desk duty -- greeting the public! -- until an OMI investigation was completed.

"He's a great police officer, and I was shocked when they called me and told me that. I never heard of any problems he's had at home or on the job," Walke's commanding officer told the Post-Gazette.

And who was the commanding officer making that assurance?

Why, none other than George Trosky, who had been promoted to commander despite having been accused of domestic violence himself.

But hey, if Walker is lucky, he'll get Judge Geoffery Manning to preside over his trial. And Walker can just explain that he took action against Fate in his official capacity. Manning is already on record saying he has no business policing the police, whether they're off-duty or not!

So ... how long until we get another consent decree?
