The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s sold-out Poinsettias and Pointe Shoes performance at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens early Monday evening featured abbreviated excerpts from The Nutcracker, with dancers silhouetted by a beautiful winter sunset. The event was attended by a lot of young kids, many in their dance outfits, who sat there mesmerized.
Members in attendance were also given a sneak preview of some of the poinsettias featured in this year’s Holiday Magic! Winter Flower Show and Light Garden, which opens to the public on Fri., Nov. 29. Fans of the Ballet’s “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy” can look forward to the full performance of The Nutcracker coming to The Benedum Center, Dec. 6-29.
