      <![CDATA[One thing one generally does not see at the outsides of the 14th Ward precincts is the bullish sort of campaigner familiar in other areas of the City. You know the type - big, burly men, getting in voters' faces and insisting that their candidate is sure to win, shoving slate cards (sometimes even fake slate cards) in their hands, and warding off other campaigners as they open the polling place door.<br>
<br>
I do not remember ever having seen one of those campaigners working on behalf of any candidate for whom I have voted; and I do not live in the 14th Ward.
