It's true:  The diagnosis of shaken baby has become extremely controversial. While the symptoms that define the syndrome CAN be caused by abuse, doctors now recognize a long and growing list of legitimate medical conditions that can also trigger the distinctive pattern of bleeding and swelling inside the infant brain.
