I'm Ryu Darragh in Second Life and Wolfie is a friend. I'm a "Scalie", which simply means I prefer dragons to other forms, but I have been a centaur and a wolf online over the years.

What I have noticed is that the "trolls" who have been so focused on the anthro/furry community in very negative ways based on the Vanity Faire and CSI sensationalizing fish wrapping stories have polarized.

The one group has stopped focussing on the "yiff" and "fetish" minority and gone after the "emo" and other hysterical members of the "furry" contingent.

The other group has turned, instead, into neonazi hate groups (or, at least, are pretending to be so) that are using "furries" in the same context and rhetoric as the other past hate groups focused on Afro Americans or Gays.

It's refreshing to see an article with some intelligence behind it and not the "will it sell papers?

I stumbled on this just now and find there's no comments, which is very strange.

My Name is Wolfie Rankin, and I'll be in a Documentary which goes to air next year, called "Alter Ego", it's partly about furries and all about Secondlife.

ABC has an Island in Secondlife and I've been one of it's Admin, The Australian Broadcasting Corporation doesn't mind having furries on their Island, and the furries get along fine with them too.

I've noticed a shift in Secondlife where over a year ago, furries were seen as freaks and connected with a fetish as you say, but times have changed.

People are trying out furry avatars with surprising regularity now and any remaining intolerance has dissolved.

"Yiffy" actually means sexy, looking sexy, feeling sexy and "Yiff" alone means "Sex"...
