While I fully support the whole range of LGBT rights, abortion rights, equal pay, etc., I am a bit confused by the focus on these issues where the Dems ARE more progressive than the Repugs. I am sick of Dems calling themselves progressive based on these issues, when very few differ from Repubs on more important matters: the obscene military budget and imperialistic hubris when infrastructure is crumbling, 20% of children go to bed hungry, millions of families have 2 spouses working full time at or near minimum wage and are poor by any honest definition. 5 trillion on 15 years of war, another 5 trillion on Bush tax cuts that went almost entirely to the top 1-5%. Wall st runaway greed continues. Nixon and Eisenhower would be appalled that the country has veered so far right that would be center-left Dems today. Old guy with too long a bus ride.
