I've been three times this year - once for my birthday for a prix-fixe meal on a weeknight that featured oeufs meurette (think the classiest eggs and bacon in a bacon wine sauce, served with perfect toast points), lamb with a brown sauce, and a simple galette with a birthday candle; once as a French teacher at lunchtime for the student prix-fixe meal that allowed my students all to experience an entree, dessert, drink and tip for a very affordable price (so affordable we sprung for the escargots, and boy were they great!); and once with my aunt for a week-end dinner with all the fixings and a shared bottle of organic Cote du Rhone wine. All I can say is - oh la la! The servers spoke French with me the entire time (I happened to get each of the French servers once, and one of them twice, although I've seen some very capable English-only waiters at nearby tables), and I felt like I was sitting in Paris - no pressure from service, perfectly appointed meals and tables, time to talk, no pressure to leave. It was wonderful. I'd go every month if we could, and I think we're about overdue! Go, Allez-y, c'est excellent!
