How is it that the port authority can/has received millions and still have a poorly run system. I have lived in many states and cities and found that this is the most of the few public transportation system that the fares are high and going higher. Forced whole townships and suburbs to reduce there population all for the sake of public transportation. This does not cover that fact that last year alone the port authority hired more than 500 workers in the beginning of the year, by the end of the year laid off a greater number, 1.5 employees of what was hired. With the service cuts planned even more communites will be without service some who already must walk about 3 miles to reach public service, to have to walk a greater distance. I am sure those people will abandone the township/suburb that they live in presently, possibly Pittsburgh itself, just to survive, keep a job, or put food on the table, Not mention those senior or people with difficulties walking. Port Authority? What port do they dock at?
