In 1670, William Penn was charged with the crime of "tumult" for speaking to gatherings on London's streets. In 1776, Pennsylvania's Constitution declared: "That the people have a right to assemble together." Two centuries later, University of Pittsburgh students are being persecuted for exercizing this right.
