Another important aspect is asking local homeless shelters if they turn away trans people, and if so get them to change their policies. Trans woman are women and belong in woman's shelters, not men's (regardless of the status of her genitals). Homeless shelters in other cities are trans inclusive, let's hope we can do the same here and help avoid any such future incidents.
