After reading this article I can't help but post a comment. While I wholeheartedly believe that there are issues with Domestic Violence in positions of Authority, especially with Police Odfficers, one also has to take into consideration the new found punishment most women so easily place on spouses, boyfriends, domestic partners as a mere tactic of revenge. If all abused women could get a PFA that would be great but in most cases the women who really need PFA's are too scared for their lives to get one.
So when "empowered" women quit using PFAs as punishment or out of spite in Custody, Divorce scenarios etc, then I will agree to have a Policy put in place for men in our Police Force to be in a Zero Tolerance and lose their jobs.
But as we all know this American Dream of innocent until proven guilty (which seems to be going to the dogs) doesn't hold much weight and somebody should not lose their career over an allegation. PFAs have become CYAs in court for judges and too many women are using them as a weapon themselves.
