Great value and taste!! Four happy diners that danced all night to the Groove Doctors last Saturday.
Hang in there, Charlie. Like Steeler fans who grew up during the 80's and early 90's, when they finally cover all the bases and make it to the Series, you'll be among those who waited 33 years for '60, which remains the toughest moment in Baltimore history.
This is one week out of 52. It seems there is plenty of time left to discuss Peduto's primary victory, his run towards the general election, and whatever else we need to discuss. Plus, I would add that CP spends all year making "more mature, worthwhile comment" (and also, some that are not so mature too; hey, it's our gift, so we gotta use it) on the state of the city and its goings on. I, personally, am glad to have had the opportunity to take AJ Richardson's photograph for this issue, because god knows, I've been covering Peduto since he worked for Valerie MacDonald and, although a very nice guy, his tattoos aren't nearly as photogenic as AJ's.
"Or will they be forced to go without food and then because of poor nutrition be hospitalized?" Scales asks. "We will still end up paying for it, but on the other end."
UMMMMMM.........we already are paying for it on the other end. It's called Obama Care. Don't forget about that TRILLION DOLLAR nightmare that is about to kick in.
Socialism is bad people....it sucks on its prey (taxes) until it sucks everything dry. Then what is left? That's right.....nothing.
85 Billion isn't a big enough cut if you ask me.
One thing one generally does not see at the outsides of the 14th Ward precincts is the bullish sort of campaigner familiar in other areas of the City. You know the type - big, burly men, getting in voters' faces and insisting that their candidate is sure to win, shoving slate cards (sometimes even fake slate cards) in their hands, and warding off other campaigners as they open the polling place door.
I do not remember ever having seen one of those campaigners working on behalf of any candidate for whom I have voted; and I do not live in the 14th Ward. I'd like to think, and certainly hope, that the public nowadays goes to the polls knowing for whom they intend to vote, rather than being told by Committeemen or anyone else at the entrance to the polling place.
Listen you retard, the candidate that was worthwhile to make the cover was Aj!!! I have a lot of respect for this guy to do what he did. He has more heart and balls than you and I put together you prick! He was on top of his game with the debates, he has a lot of good ideas and he has a heart for the people. So instead of knocking him you slimy piece of dog puke... The whole city should be saying kuddos to you Aj, for doing something most could never have done. Maybe your mother would have thought a "condom" was worthwhile and mature decision, before screwing up universal greatest with your pathetic excuse of a life! Great job CP & CD! You guys and the article/pic gets my vote!!!
Nice. The 14th always turns out, but a contested council race and a favorite daughter judicial candidate (Eleanor Bush) probably contributed to the bump this year, along with Bill's run.
@ DB -- the print edition went to press before the polls were closed. That's just how it works here; the print edition made that a little clearer. We've been providing coverage of the results over on our Blog: http://www.pghcitypaper.com/blogs/Blogh/
This is rather silly considering the significance of the Peduto victory last night.
Regardless of whether you support Bill, Jack, or even Luke, there's no denying that last night's election was a significant shift toward a more progressive-minded Pittsburgh. Both Rudiak and Gilman's victories attest to this as well.
It's too bad that CP didn't use this week's cover story to make a more mature, worthwhile comment on that shift.
Wait. Rudiak won?! Didn't people see Lamar Advertising's billboards? Rudiak wants to tax billboards, people. BILLBOARDS.
A billboard tax is just the thin edge of the wedge! Next thing you know, there's a hammer and sickle on the City-County Building and your kids are all being trained in madrassas! What's next, soccer at Heinz Field?
Amazing restaurant! I highly recommend.
If America is to ever be a strong country ,we need to cut everything possible to get out of debt ,or our paper money will only be worth the paper its printed on.
They can go get a job too.
As you mostly acknowledge, there are a lot of shades between smurfishness and monstrousness, and it's probably not even a one-dimensional spectrum. Traditional machine politicos love nothing more than to insist that in order to be consistent, progressives must forever be lying down, rolling over and exposing their abdomens. They usually complain about it with half a smile and a twinkle in their eye, as though they remember fondly what progressive entrails taste like.
Look to Shrek. Some monsters are loving and noble.
ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!?! The 90's were all about paying $20 for 2 good songs. (3 if you like weezer) Why are you listening to non-singles off that album? Did your skip button break on your sony discman? Plus that video for singing in my sleep might as well have come out today... the way he reaches over a pile of CD's to dig out a cassette mix tape... it's like a hipster manifesto in a 4:25 video. GOSH ANDY! @kidurango
Yeahhhhh, that song's OK. That "Secret Smile" song straight-up sucks, though, and I think it was the second single from the album, wasn't it? NOT FEELIN' IT, PETE.
Nice round-up Chris. I had a friend call last night who said he was still on the fence and was concerned about Peduto's perceived difficulties in the black community. Thanks for knocking it down.

DEC is the best! The stuff I've done since I've been here has been...
AMAZING... I can't say that enough. I'm in Tom Savini's Special Make-Up
Effects Program and I've done everything from eyes and teeth to
animatronics and fashion performance make-up. I've worked with my
friends in The Factory Digital Filmmaking Program on some of the biggest
and best Final Products in recent years!!! Seriously... Some KILLER SHIT...
I can't imagine going anywhere else and learning and much or having the experiences that I've had here... Anyone who runs their mouth and has negative stuff to say (guy/girl a
couple below) hasn't put the time in or discipline to really shut that shit down and
go for their dreams. Bunch of sick rumors from people who are jokes
themselves.
Re: “‘Death by a Thousand Cuts': Budget cuts from federal sequester taking toll on local social programs”
more liberal crying BS.
wonder what these chowder head CEO's are making? Don't remember hearing any of them say they were going to take a pay cut so the "poor kids" and "starving senior citizens" can keep getting their free things.
a much more important, and interesting, question this reporter obviously didn't ask is: what is the administrative overhead costs of these not-for-profit, non tax paying, of these crying organizations? I bet it is 40 cents per every dollar. If not higher.
and these clowns want sympathy and using the poor kids and starving seniors card?? Not from this chick. And not from any smart American. Finally the Feds are doing something right. And articles like this with fat-wallet CEO's soliciting pity..........what a joke.
