Re: “Ball on the Bridge highlights LGBT ball culture on the Andy Warhol Bridge

It might have occurred to the author to bother to define the term "ball culture".

Re: “Pittsburgh officials asking for input on 'Complete Streets' and bike-lane plans

Bravo!!! The more space, safety, accommodation, and consideration of ALL people moving around the city the better. AND tourists will be attracted based on ease of biking here.. I do not use my bike on city streets due to fear; so I applaud these ideas...Peace..

Re: “Dave Matthews Band's Boyd Tinsley talks about longevity, playing Pittsburgh and the group's 25th anniversary

I saw DMB in Pittsburgh in 2010 at Heinz Field, I don't think I've seen the band play that good ever...20-30 minute versions of #41 and Two Step that left most people breathless. Clear skies, moon rose behind the band, It seemed like they played 11-14 songs at 2 hours and 45 minutes, but they might have played more songs...i was completely amazed and converted...the closest to what I heard and saw at Pittsburgh was captured on CD, DMB Live at Wrigley Field in Chicago...

Re: “Faced with steep renovation costs, Pittsburgh's James Street Gastropub launches #SaveJamesStreet campaign

Dear Editor,

I would like to share my thoughts regarding the recent article about James Street Gastro Pub. James Street is a very cool venue with a lot to offer. It would be a shame if it were no longer part of the North Side entertainment scene. I am troubled by a couple of things that I read. Mr. Saftner said that because of noise complaints the livelihood of the pub is at risk. This is not new that noise is an issue. The upper floors are not air conditioned and the windows are open . A single flute player would be acceptable but I don't see that on the schedule any time soon. The owner needs to update the building and is playing on our kind and generous nature to foot the bill. Well, we are already paying. There is a cover charge to walk in the door and the food prices have gone way up and the quality of the food has gone down. So I usually stop at the Park House for a couple of drinks and great food at a fair price before I go to a show. The owner is taking advantage of some publicity and is now asking us to help pay for updates. Stop the madness! He needs to be like every other responsible business owner and use the money he's already making off us to make the improvements. Oh, and my house and car need a few repairs if anyone wants to help me pay.

Re: “Furries show off their finest 'fursuits' to the public in Anthrocon's annual Fursuit Parade

I was there as an Anthrocon attendee after having missed it the past two years, and the parade is amazing now! I didn't know it started going outside to interact with the public, or that the public had started gathering in such huge numbers to come see our fursuits. Such a warm welcome from Pittsburgh!

Re: “PWSA addresses water-quality and billing problems

PWSA has not sent a bill to my home at any time in 2016. How is that even possible?

Re: “Rally scheduled and website started in support for Pittsburgh immigrant in process of being deported

Coming across border illegally or remaining here illegally is a crime. Either is a misdemeanor according to federal law. If illegals don't have to obey the law for this why should anybody have to obey other laws? Stop playing politics and enforce the law.

Re: “Rally scheduled and website started in support for Pittsburgh immigrant in process of being deported

Sorry to tell you but coming across border or remaining illegally in country is a misdemeanor according to fed law. Others obeyed law why should this be any different

Re: “PWSA addresses water-quality and billing problems

I never remember reading that smart meters would lower the bill. Perhaps something was said about indirect savings through reduced meter reader requirements. However, the increases have been to fund the federally mandated infrastructure improvements. We are facing a time limit to split the sanitary sewer from the storm water lines instead of one system.

Sorry but Esquivel-Hernandez was detained by ICE because he is undocumented not because he didn't have a license.
