Re: “Bon Jovi brings This House is Not for Sale tour to PPG Paints Arena

A sore throat, that's what I got,
Does it really matter if I finish or not?
You paid 10 dollars, that isn't a lot,
Oh well, I gave it a shot.

Ohhhh we're halfway there,
Just kidding, we're done.

Re: “Review: Ms. Lauryn Hill at Heinz Hall

Not just the more mature folks... probably 1/2 to 2/3 of the audience had better things to do with their lives than continue to wait for what in the absence of any announcements about the status of the concert...

Re: “Concert review: Ms. Lauryn Hill at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, May 11

I went to see Lauryn last night in St.Petersburg,FL as an early birthday present. I totally agree with Keyona Dawson, thank you for that. She definitely had no interaction with the crowd and was extremely cold someone yelled "We love you Lauryn" her response was a little giggle (under her breath). I love Lauryns' music and felt extremly disappointed. It felt fake and to "glammed up" for me. She did a great rendition of Nina Simones'"Feeling Good" that was the best song she performed. I understand that her style has changed but would have loved to see her mix it up a bit more (slow down the music tempo to the orginal one without that jazz/pop feel. I was hoping to see and hear a bit more of her real music being "L Boogie" or "Lauryn with the guitar." She didn'the even sing "Piece of Mind" which I guess was a good thing, I probably would not have been able to follow along with the song anyway. As one of my birthday gifts this was a waste of time and money. I truely wish I could of gotten a refund. I could have watched the taped performance of this. I hope she changes her performance before going to Miami,FL which I am sure she will. Love Lauryns' music but that performance was not what I expected at all.

Re: “Concert review: Ms. Lauryn Hill at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, May 11

I Went to a Lauryn concert last night, and I'm VERY disappointed, I was soooo stoked about seeing her, only for her to not interact with the crowd and remix every song that each fan came to sing along to. Her band and backup singers have to hate her, she orchestrates like a choir director who had never performed with her band before, her voice was still AMAZING, her talent is obvious, but she definitely needs to get herself together, never will I attend another concert, i left early very disappointed

Re: “MP3 Monday: Rue

Can CP stop promoting bands featuring members that can barely play their instruments? You're making the city look bad.

Re: “Bruce Springsteen brings The River Tour back to Pittsburgh and the Consol Energy Center

Patti wasn't there, hasn't been on this tour at all. The only woman onstage (Besides the local violinists who left after the first song) was Suzy Tyrell...

Re: “Dave Matthews Band's Boyd Tinsley talks about longevity, playing Pittsburgh and the group's 25th anniversary

I saw DMB in Pittsburgh in 2010 at Heinz Field, I don't think I've seen the band play that good ever...20-30 minute versions of #41 and Two Step that left most people breathless. Clear skies, moon rose behind the band, It seemed like they played 11-14 songs at 2 hours and 45 minutes, but they might have played more songs...i was completely amazed and converted...the closest to what I heard and saw at Pittsburgh was captured on CD, DMB Live at Wrigley Field in Chicago...

Re: “Faced with steep renovation costs, Pittsburgh's James Street Gastropub launches #SaveJamesStreet campaign

Dear Editor,

I would like to share my thoughts regarding the recent article about James Street Gastro Pub. James Street is a very cool venue with a lot to offer. It would be a shame if it were no longer part of the North Side entertainment scene. I am troubled by a couple of things that I read. Mr. Saftner said that because of noise complaints the livelihood of the pub is at risk. This is not new that noise is an issue. The upper floors are not air conditioned and the windows are open . A single flute player would be acceptable but I don't see that on the schedule any time soon. The owner needs to update the building and is playing on our kind and generous nature to foot the bill. Well, we are already paying. There is a cover charge to walk in the door and the food prices have gone way up and the quality of the food has gone down. So I usually stop at the Park House for a couple of drinks and great food at a fair price before I go to a show. The owner is taking advantage of some publicity and is now asking us to help pay for updates. Stop the madness! He needs to be like every other responsible business owner and use the money he's already making off us to make the improvements. Oh, and my house and car need a few repairs if anyone wants to help me pay.

Re: “Suggestions for an improved Kenny Chesney experience in 2017

Remind me then please...why do we bring in Kenny Chesney? 'cause he's a 'Motivational Entertainer' ? 'cause he brings the Best Crowds from under their rocks? Or because the cost of cleaning up after him/them is still less than the money he brings in. Oh Yuck.

Re: “Concert review: Ms. Lauryn Hill at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, May 11

Article sounds like it was written by one of Lauryn Hills band members. Basically it says, don't blame her, blame the artistic process. And shame on the fans who expect an artist to be professional and show up on time.
