Showcase BBQ in Homewood and Wilsons in the North Side.
I'll second a vote for yinzburg, they make great slow smoked bbq, homemade sauces, and are even vegan friendly (smoked tofu and many of their sides are made vegan like the collards, hoppin john, and tomato / okra stew).
We have three kinds of raw pizza, and Latin one is nut free with pineapple, avocado, tomato, red onion, tomatillo salsa, optional jalapeno and cilantro.

Any of your raw pizzas nut free?

both provide consistent, top-quality BBQ. Those are just the two front-runners for me at this point. Wilson's BBQ in the Northside is a classic. Buffalo Blues in Shadyside is spot-on most days. The winners are there, you just have to do the research.
If you missed this one, you can reserve your seat for one in January. http://jan16brunch.brownpapertickets.com/

a true gem of our town
My family runs a small business and I tend to see things from that perspective AND from a left-leaning one, sounds strange, I know. I really don't get how a business needs to pay for women's birth control... health coverage, sure. However, if a man goes in to surgery for sterilization..will the insurance cover that? Partial or full? It all needs to fair, simple as that.
