Re: “New Releases

As much as a appreciate your reviews, when you name your band Echos Myron, after the Guided By Voices of the same name, you have no room to judge an imitation and therefore no credibility as a writer.

Re: “New Releases

You compared them to one of the most influential bands of all time. Either you meant to, or trolled yourself with your inability to communicate with a respectable level of knowledge of the topic, as the poor execution of the review has left me rather confused. I don't think anyone should be upset or abusive towards the reviewer, rather, enjoy the inept attempt at a critique of their album, both reviewed albums, to be specific.

Re: “New Releases

You forgot to be a dick to the bass player and drummer of the Cobras... Everything sounds like something. Loose Jim channels legit anger which is not an easy thing to do. I like the entertainment and energy... Just sayn

Re: “New Releases

I think the reviewer intended positive remarks on the Coastal Remedy new release, To The World... however, it left me wondering if he actually listened to the whole thing. Each track is more amazing than the last, culminating with the heartfelt and moving "Frozen" at the end of 14 incredible tracks. No, I have no personal interest in them ~ I am simply a dedicated fan. There is so much intensity and talent here, and they are still young. Most bands couldn't produce a better album after years in the business. Expect more fantastic things from them. They are oozing creativity and soul. See them live if you get the chance!!

Re: “New Releases

Notes:

1) "She is my Property" is the name of a Steve Wilkos episode.
2) Pressing of the ovaries was considered a cure for hysteria while that was still a thing.

Re: “CD Reviews

Did you read the review, or just two words of it? I literally wrote, "the compositions are too complex for [the label pop-punk]." I also referred to this band as an "indie-rock band," and noted exactly what part of the music sounds to be on the verge of pop-punk: the vocals. But thanks for the history lesson!

Re: “CD Reviews

I'm sorry but what part of Instead Of Sleeping sounds Pop Punk? The band may have catchy melodies, and one epic gang vocal in "Black Light", but they in no way sound Pop Punk. Pop Punk is a genre that was built out of the 2000's with bands like New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, and Four Year Strong as the main stays. Instead Of Sleeping is far to musically diverse to be classified as Pop Punk. Never in a pop punk song have I heard strings, like in "Indian Giver" or an organ like in "Defibrillator". That is a really sad piece of writing on a great album being put in the wrong genre. Its also sad too all Pop Punk fans who would go in expecting Pop Punk. If you are looking for an idea as to what Instead Of Sleeping sounds like, try bands like Minus The Bear, Manchester Orchestra, and Brand New.

Re: “Anything can be a song on Weird Paul's Medically Necessary

In stark contrast to the opinion of Dreger, I personally find Weird Paul a real treat. If you love the spoonfed, mainstream tack, then fair enough, but if you are searching for purer, more interesting and less affected gems... then Weird Paul delivers!
