Re: “You don’t have to like Ted Cruz to respect his snub of Donald Trump

He put country before party.

Re: “You don’t have to like Ted Cruz to respect his snub of Donald Trump

Unlike your views of Trump I wonder how a supposedly intelligent writer like yourself could support a vial evil woman like H.Clinton. Have you not read what she has all tried to cover up just in the past year or two say nothing about years ago and the people who wouldn't go along with them disappeared or were killed. Trump isn't the prize but Hillary is absolutely no blue ribbon winner herself.
I normally enjoy your articles but this one was far too left for me.

Re: “You don’t have to like Ted Cruz to respect his snub of Donald Trump

Anyone who claims that a sitting United States Senator in his mid-40s, who came in second in a presidential primary, will "never, ever be elected to the White House" because of a speech is clueless about American history.

Re: “A trio of female athletes will carry Pittsburgh’s hopes into the Summer Olympics

"I rank the warm-weather games as second-best because you can’t take an event seriously if it includes ping-pong and badminton." Maybe you should come down to South Park Table Tennis Club on a Tuesday night before dismissing ping pong so easily.

Cruz is a great man, but he doesn't need praise from liberal journalists in the same way Jesus Christ would not accept praise from demons.

BTW, before you write Windsurfing off as "old school" you need to know that Windsurfing is here to stay. It deserves Olympic status. The sport actually has roots to Pennsylvania. See:http://www.nytimes.com/1998/09/28/business/patents-blow-blow-inventor-windsurfing-found-his-place-sun.html

Re: “You don’t have to like Ted Cruz to respect his snub of Donald Trump

You need to check your facts. Trump wasn't in the audience with his family during Cruz's speech. Go back and watch the video. The picture of a disgusted Trump and his family was (I think) during his son's speech. Don't believe everything you read on the internet!

Kitesurfing was not added to the 2016 Olympics. The May 2012 vote was reversed in November 2012. Kiteboard Racing does not belong in the Olympics.

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: Pittsburgh Pirates' Jung Ho Kang should sit during sexual-assault investigation

Apparently you haven't read about Patrick Kane's recent run-in with some groupie who "was raped". When the rape kit came back negative, the woman's mother tried to concoct some story that it was tampered with. She stated that she found the rape kit on her front porch (which turned out to be nothing more than the "victim's" clothing in a bag that was sent home with her from the hospital).
The broad then dropped the charges because it was causing undue stress on her and her family. Which is codespeak for, I didn't think I would actually have to be questioned by the police multiple times and this would be some long, drawn out process with criminal liability on my part should it be discovered I am lying. I assumed I scream rape and I get my big check.

I guess this turd you are trying to pass as journalism explains why you are writing for the Pittsburgh City Paper.

Re: “Mike Wysocki’s Mount Rushmores of Pittsburgh sports

How about pro coaches? Bob Johnson, Chuck Noll, Chuck Tanner and Bill Cowher or Jim Leyland. Also, I know Myron was not a play-by-play announcer but it's a shame to leave him out. Yoi!

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: It’s time for whites to confront racism in a meaningful way

I kept reading the comments to find the inevitable one or two which would mention reverse racism as a problem. Which first off the word reverse racism is racist, racism is racism. But to continue, this is exactly the behavior the article is talking about. Change the marker and talk about a problem that is barely existent. For once can we talk about race in a way in which reverse racism is not brought up, it diminishes the conversation and justifies the acts of pthers.

Re: “Mike Wysocki’s Mount Rushmores of Pittsburgh sports

Inarguable on the Pirates? Ralph Kiner and Honus Wagner might have something to say about that. McCutchen is not on their level yet. Also, Jock Sutherland and Pop Warner deserve honorable mention for college coaches.

Re: “It’s time we learned how to properly treat the victims of sexual assault

Every case is different. Ben had WITNESSES.
Anyone can make a complaint, however stupid. BUT, a charge cannot be brought until it is reviewed and there is probable cause. Your rationale is so warped, I am amazed you continue to keep this up.
No one is AGAINST the victim if there is one, and consider that it is Kang if he did not do anything wrong
There are no probablities. It is all or nothing. He did it or he did not.
The rape test showed?
The interview with the cabbie?
The video from the hotel?
Sexual assault is such an egregious violation of civilization it almost stands alone.
It's disgustingly awful.
So is punishing someone who is innocent.
If he's guilty, get rid of him.

Re: “If white America truly thinks Black Lives Matter, our society has a strange way of showing it

There was a black male from Minnesota who did what an office told him. He was shot dead in front of his girlfriend and child as he was reaching for his ID AS INSTRUCTED! The truth is that black people are treated differently than white people and that is what needs to change. When an officer tells you to do something they are not always correct, citizens have rights and officers often violate them. When you tell them, "you are violating my rights" they don't give a crap they want you to do what they said "because they are the law and they can break the law and get away with it!!" The police need better training. They should not instantly result to a tazer or shoot someone in vital organs. Because of a traffic stop.. stop and think about what you are doing morons..

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: Pittsburgh Pirates' Jung Ho Kang should sit during sexual-assault investigation

I graduated law school. Anyone can file a complaint, even you for this same exact offense. BUT to levy a charge, there has to be a probable cause. Now, more than two weeks later, you would have the man SIT? I disagree with you, your logic is flawed.

Re: “It’s time we learned how to properly treat the victims of sexual assault

Again...please use parallel examples when pressing a point of view. It helps people buy into your thinking. The 80 yr old woman's attacker in the example had been arrested and charged. Kang HAS NOT BEEN CHARGED with anything. Its quite simple. I have not heard any PR campaign on his behalf at all from the Pirates, MLB, their fans or anyone else. I'm sorry that doesn't fit the political agenda. I am not on Kang's side, not on her side. Neutral, unemotional positions are best for the two people and for our justice system in general. Luckily we are not in N. Korea kangaroo court - its the USA - not perfect but the best going. Leave politics at the door when dealing with justice.

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: Pittsburgh Pirates' Jung Ho Kang should sit during sexual-assault investigation

Uh excuse me...not only hasn't he had due process...he hasn't been charged. I despise men who prey on women. I despise people who willingly ruin someone's life to advance a political agenda. Just collateral damage along the way I guess - see DUKE lacrosse, UVA fraternity. And many crimes are traumatic to victims - of course. As unseemly as assault is, it does not trump all other crimes. That's just a thinly veiled political agenda at work. At least lets see charges of some kind. C'mon.

Re: “Pittsburgh Left: Pittsburgh Pirates' Jung Ho Kang should sit during sexual-assault investigation

This may be the dumbest column I have ever read, and the author's follow up comment is even dumber. Rape and sexual assault cases have to be treated the same as other crimes because of a little thing known as due process, its in the US Constitution if you could be bothered to check. And it's not good enough to say that you agree 90% of the time that the accused is presumed innocent--they are entitled to that presumption 100% of the time. And exactly why should someone like Kang be suspended before a police investigation finds that there is sufficient evidence to bring charges? So that the alleged victim isn't offended by turning on a Pirates game and seeing that Kang is playing? Is that the "special dispensation" that you say the alleged victim should receive? What utter nonsense. What's really unfair is that the accusation against Kang by the alleged victim who is entitled to remain anonymous has been made public before the police investigation has been completed. So even if that investigation were to determine that charges should not be brought, Kang will be forever tainted by the accusation.
