Is this bar still smoking?
"Because distributors can't add the cost of shipping to the listed price per bottle, they often require minimum purchases — ranging from a single bottle up to a full case,"- So much for the claim (which I've heard elsewhere from PLCB supporters) that they help reduce alcohol abuse.
Mike Mills is a buddy of mine, but here's my attempt at an objective review; Eat and Drink at Butcher and the Rye. We'd eat there more, but they don't deliver to Brooklyn.
I think it's great but I have to disagree that there aren't enough quality Pennsylvania wines. We have so many wonderful wineries made by passionate people. Those closest to the "Burgh" that I can think of off hand with great quality are Kavic, Narcisi, Deer Creek, Walnut Hill, even R in the Strip, along with Enricco's own wine, plus so many more. There are also many from Northern and Eastern Pennsylvania that are endless. These wineries make wine comparable, if not better than those in other states. It's my own personal opinion but I think there are others out there that can agree. These places pack people who love their wines.
Where can we get these beers? Only from the brewer, or are local restaurants carrying them as well?
Great place as long as you are not in a wheelchair or have mobility issues.
I went there Sunday and again on Thursday! My husband loves the carnivore pizza and the kids all got Margherita pizza. I tried the forest pizza with mushrooms and onions and it was excellent. I can't wait to go back and try the pastas!
They opened last Wednesday. Their pizza is delish!
Are they open for business yet?
So, is it any good?
Guess which editor was working on 3 hours' sleep that morning? THIS GUY. I'll correct it online; thanks for flagging it.
South Carson Street?
Vannevar and Zushigirl; you both must be real fun at parties. The driver that works for the company controls the vehicle and does not drink. The riders only contribute power to make it go forward. Its no different than a party bus except the riders get some exercise. Around two dozen cities have them right now and they seem to be doing well. Maybe instead of condemning people with a novel idea for the city you should lighten up a bit.
What an excellent idea! There is a designated driver, and everyone pedals and has a great time! I hope they are successful and prosperous in their adventure!
You're both stupid Yinzers. It's not bicycling and it most definitely is about drinking.
In case you didn't read the article, it's about being out with friends and having fun. There is no alcohol served on the bike. It is a party bus only people powered. Our tour through the strip was a BLAST !! We stopped at a couple of establishments and had a good time with our friends. It was a fun way to get about town and enjoy the company of many friends !! Glad it's in our town !!
Let's mix bicycling and drinking. The only possibly more foolish notion is: Hey, let's invest in this! Sorry, but this is not a good idea.

Do you have any contact information?
Address, phone, website?
And what are their hours?
This is actually common practice in most Chicago bars. Very practical, overall.
