Re: “Outlines

I found this poem very interesting due to the concepts concerning sound, maybe even language in the first stanza. And, silence as representational of interchange between two people. Few poems deal with sound in this manner. It is a unique vantage point. The halved buildings, their sliced in half histories also caught my attention. Great poem. Honored to read it.

Re: “Black Man Walking

A great poet. Truthful work. The poem it seems or the details within continue to become more and more inclusive.

It's grey and wet in Adelaide right now David. You're not missing much (yet). Nice poem.

Re: “Yes, Yes, Yes

Thanks to Bill O'Driscoll and Kayla Sargeson
for publishing this poem and sending the gift card. It was very kind. I enjoy the poems by other poets published in Chapter&Verse very much.

Re: “Capitalist Poem #1

A very well developed poem. The Capitalist thematic is very interesting because Doralee expresses it in a clear manner. I would like to read more poems like this.

Re: “Take

It appears the poem's first line has a typo? That is should read "Didn't" instead of "did't" ?

Re: “Early Television Icons Are Dying

One of the best poets in Pittsburgh. Widely published nationally and internationally. Should be more acclaimed. Has taught many poets gladly and shared his art in school settings. Great orator.

Re: “Blind Date

Chekov had a philosophy, that only necessary elements should be included in a play. If you were not going to use something, leave it out. This poem is spare but says so much. The three carrots are essential and amusing.

Re: “Blind Date

Chekov scholars can be tricky this way. "sometimes in life (as in Chekov) nothing happens" -- but delightful things in tribute to that void happen in this poem. 3 carrots? Wow.

Mr. Zepp's kind demeanor shows in the humor of many of his poems. He pays keen attention to the incredulity of life and can state in a minimalist format. Pittsburgh is lucky to have him.

Re: “What We Tell Our Black Sons

Poetic dynamics are very clearly operative. Why endeavor to pass an edict upon Ms. Vasser's work as not being a poem?

The commenter has always liked Joan's poems which deal with memoir and her poems which relate her California years.
