Hospitality, value, and variety alone would make Istanbul worthwhile. From a wide range of mezes to tease the tongue, to ample entrees of Oriental delights, each presentation and welcome is both glorious and sublime.
Decorated with the subtle splendor of an intimate Levantine cafe, there is seating for large families as well as intimate nooks to take your tea. Occasional performances by ethnic bands and dancers may be seen. The large room in the rear is likewise decorated with a Moorish theme, right down to the wall seating. Several of my friends have had their wedding receptions there, as well as other themed events.
The setting is comfortable. The location is in the middle of everything in Sq. Hill. The prices are very reasonable. and the COFFEE is just wonderful. Better than other comperable shops with a feeling that the staff is real and not cookie-cutter corporate lackeys. This feels like a family coffeeshop, which i think it might actually be, not sure though. Overall, this is the place I'd go out of my way for given the opportunity. The coffee is just that exquisite.
Arefa's Espresso is a wonderful place.
The owners are personable and friendly as are their staff.
I love it there - try the Snickerdoodle!!!! :)
