Re: “Union Pig & Chicken

Over-priced, over-done hipster garbage. Pretentious and lousy service with high prices to boot, this is the worst of all worlds. A true sign of the hyper gentrification of East Liberty. Where a real down home BBQ joint might have stood we now have this temple to foodie BS. I wantd to like this place but there was nothing tasty on the menu, everything was over cooked and too smoky. The sides were also rather shoddy. While it is owned by an accomplished chef, his skills do not extend into all realms of cookery. Time to shut down so a trendy yogurt chain can move in!

Re: “Double Wide Grill

this place was trying to epitomize Pittsburgh as a hole... Redneck, Hillbilly, trailer food.... the food was terrible and ridiculously overpriced. Why go?

Re: “Double Wide Grill

The gas station theme was great...the food was seriously not good and the portions tiny for alot of cash...I would never reccommend this place...ever...and I am not hard to please

Re: “Double Wide Grill

Me and my wife were on the south side for the first time after visiting the RV show. As we were driving up from station square we noticed the DoubleWide Grill. What better way to finish our days experience. We walked in and asked to be seated. The young lady seating us said they were full in the resteraunt section but the barr section was OK. We were seated at a table beside the bar. Very BAD choice on our part. As it got crowded people were standing right next to us as we eat. If you come here definitely wait for a table in the resteraunt section. We had the BBQ Baby Back Ribs and the Death Row Delmonico. The food was cooked exactly as ordered and both dishes contained nice cuts of meat. My wife had coleslaw with her ribs and it had a very slight vinegar flavor. Just tasted like eating raw cabbage and carrots. My Steak came with the mashed yams and although these were good I would much rather of had the garlic mashed potatoes. It would have been a good thing to have a choice of your side dish. My wifes ribs also came with a 2" cubed piece of cornbread and I asked if I could have a piece of bread or a bum with my staek and the waiter said he would bring me a piece of cornbread but it would be $2. Atmosphere: The garage atmosphere was excellent. Food: Good - More flexible choices needed. Service: Poor Overall I am glad we tried something new but I cannot recommend this place based on my experience.
