When is the owner going to wake up and realize his bartender is driving his business away? No one wants to watch the bartender nod of from her dope high all night long. Half the time she's not even behind the bar. She's either outside on the phone trying to score dope, sitting at the bar nodding off, in the back kitchen or in the bathroom, but she sure as hell isn't behind the bar being a bartender. I've walked in and sat there for a good 10 to 15 minutes and she is too busy texting to serve me so I walk out and go to Danny's. And if I'm not watching her high as can be I get to watch Keith sit there watching his porn on his phone... the pgh papers back pages website. He thinks he's sneaky but come on dude! Watch that shit in the privacy of your own home!
I don't think this place deserves a star, food cold,overpriced,they just put the unflavorful food on a white plate, no garnish,atmosphere sad,what happened.? I certainly hope the Mt.Lebonon inn is still good. My General Tsos was bland,my husbands food tasted a day old, bad.
What do you do when a grown man is screaming at a 5 month pregnant women? Clearly at this point something has to be done. This is my story.....I decided to go out to dinner tonight with Bobby and my 7 year old son. We were looking for a quick close place to eat, since we had our dogs with us I decided to drop them off at home and try out the new place by Stop n Sock, Rosalee's. This is how my experience went. They sit us outside at a picnic bench with no place mats, or silverware. The table is absolutely disgusting beyond words. I ask the waitress to bring me something to clean the table off with she proceeds to explain they have butcher paper she can bring out. Ok fine. We order our dinner and sit and listen to the live "band". Finally after almost 40 minutes our dinner arrived, except its not our dinners its our side dishes, so they aren't even bringing all the food out at once. At this point I'm realizing how horrible of pain I'm in because the table is so uncomfortable, I proceed to stand up to adjust myself and Bobby almost falls to the floor because our table is broken! I sit back down and look for my waitress who is no where to be found. Since the place is starting to fill up there was no where else for us to move to so I just sat in one spot and didn't move because I didn't want the table to collapse. Our food finally arrives and we still have no silverware to eat our side dishes with. We ask our waitress to kindly bring us a fork and she says she will bring it right out and then heads over to 4 other tables to take their orders before going back in to get us what we needed. Let me just say this the food was absolutely awful, I can't even find the words to describe how nasty this food was. I couldn't eat it. How can you mess up macaroni and cheese like honestly...come on my 7 year old can make it! So needless to say, I'm 5 months pregnant beyond hungry and now cranky because I have to pay for a meal that could hardly be called such a word, at a place with the worst service I've ever experienced. Little did I know, what was to come. After bobby forced his food now I handed him my debit card and went to my car I couldn't bear to sit on that bench another second. I see him and my son go into the restaurant to pay the bill. 25 minutes later I am fuming because he is still in there and I don't understand what is taking so long. The next thing I see is my 7 year old child coming out of this horrific place crying hysterically. As I'm getting out of my car to find out what is going on Bobby comes out screaming that they won't give him my debit card back because they can't process it with their system. I get into this place with absolutely no idea what is going on and why my child is hysterical. The owner of this horrific establishment they are trying to pass off as a southern cuisine restaurant is standing by the door with the phone to his ear calling the police saying my boyfriend is refusing to pay the bill. So this is clearly the reason my child is crying I am fuming at this point I have no idea why we handed them a card to pay the bill and we are being accused of trying to get away with not paying. Listen, I'm not going to go into as much detail as I want to I don't know if facebook will even allow me to write that much. But this man you see pictured stood in this restaurant which I'm assuming he owns and screamed at me in my face asking me "who do you think youre talking to" because I was trying to get him out of my boyfriends face so I could find out why they were holding my debit card hostage.
Here is what happened. They are running a so called restaurant that accepts credit card transactions, that they are running via a little cute square on their ipad! Their little system failed them because it not only couldn't process the customers in front of us but it couldn't process mine. They told Bobby their system couldn't run my card and that he needed to figure out how to pay for the card but he was not allowed to leave they proceeded to swipe my card several times and then told him they would not give it back to him until our meal was paid for. They tried to tell me that my card declined and I was trying to get away with not paying for my meal which mind you wasn't worth dog shit. I told her there is no way my card is declining and that I will have to go to an atm to get cash out because clearly their little system isn't working. Listen this is a long story but here is what I want you to get out of this..... My 7 year old just witnessed something that never should have happened, because of people who clearly shouldn't be in business. I am appauld not only at the fact that this man was in my face screaming at me to the point the other customers told him to back away but also at the fact that this is how business owners conduct themselves when a situation arises. All that needed to be done was they kindly explain their system wasn't working and is there another form of payment. There was no reason for any of this to happen none the less the police to be called.
A bar ultimately becomes what it's clientele forces it to become. Kelly's is no exception. Before this area of East Liberty turned into Shadyside-East, Kelly's used to be a hole-in-the-wall local spot that only neighborhood people knew about...and then all the doofus hipsters discovered it and now it's yuppieville central. Just another local joint subverted in the service of "progress."
Super rude staff! I stopped in early this evening with my husband and son to grab a quick bite of dinner. Immediately upon entering and walking towards a booth, I was approached by a waitress saying very rudely "We are 21 and over, ALWAYS!" No hi...no I'm sorry...nothing. If this is the case, I get it. Just approach me with a better attitude and a little more respect. As we headed to the door, I stopped at the bar to get a food menu, figuring we'd just order takeout and eat at home. Same story from the bartender... a very rude "we are 21 and over." I said that all I wanted was a takeout menu, to order food to go (my son and husband were already headed out the door.).
The bartender rolls his eyes, walks away and begrudgingly gets me the menu.
I walked out, threw it away and will not return. You have lost a regular customer.

During a night out with the guys, We decided to have a drink at the Garage Door Saloon. I stopped at the bar, grabbed a beer, and proceeded back to the pool tables. After finishing our game of pool, I left my 2nd purchased beer on the side table. Upon exiting the bathroom, i noticed it was missing. I asked the guy who was sitting next to the side table, "Do you know what happened to the full Blue Moon that was sitting here?". He replied "One of the bartenders took it". I walked up to the bar and notified the ladies who were working, that one of their employees took a full beer, which i had just paid for. They told me, Tough luck and shrugged off my complaint. I asked the lady to close out my tab. She mentioned that the owner was here, and if i wanted to, I could talk to him about it. I approached the owner and explained that one of his employees took a full beer i had recently purchased. He replied "Im not your fucking Mom or Dad. Im not gonna hold your fucking hand while you go to the restroom!". I replied " I can hear you fine there is no reason to yell about this situation. Im only trying to resolve the issue". To where he replied "Get the fuck out, Now". I tried to reiterate my statement by saying, "Now...(I dont think thats necessary.)" He decided to pick me up by both arms and proceed to carry me out of the Establishment. Leaving my hands in my pockets the whole time, I made the statement "This is a little unnecessary, dont you think? I will be contacting the BBB about this". To which he replied with slamming me against the wall and saying "I dont give a shit". He threw me out of the saloon. My friends were out the door shortly after.
I own a small business that recently moved into East Liberty, near Kelly's.
After an early dinner/business meeting we decided to walk across the street to Kelly's to wait out rush hour, as our one friend had to drive through it to get home.
The 3 of us are all educated middle aged professionals with families. We hung out at Kelly's for about 1.5 hours, during which time I had 2-3 very weak rum and cokes. The guy was pouring exactly one shot in tall glasses. I had no buzz whatsoever and was actually more hopped up on the caffeine. If it hadn't been freezing cold outside we would have gone somewhere else.
One of my colleagues, a male who is much larger than me, had about 4 very weak mixed drinks, and our other friend (the only one who was driving) had 3 beers. Remember, this was also after we had eaten an early dinner, and we were there for around an hour and a half.
This little stoner bartender with dreds down to his waist who looked to be about 24 cut us off and said "This will have to be your last round. You've had enough". Well it was going to be our last round because I had already asked for the check, but I have never in my life been cut off at a bar. It was insulting, embarrassing, and completely uncalled for.
None of us were drunk or talking loudly or misbehaving in any way. I have no idea why the stoner kid (we are all about twice his age) felt he needed to cut us off. It made absolutely no sense. There was hardly anyone in there and they clearly needed the business, so why insult your clientele unnecessarily??
I asked the kid if we had done anything to offend him or if he thought that were acting drunk and he said no, but that we had had a lot of drinks in a short time frame.We did have a few drinks, but there were 3 of us, we had just eaten dinner, and two of us were very large men.
We all have kids and get out about once a month if we're lucky, so we did have a few, but two of us were taking the bus home and were not a danger to anyone, nor were we drunk, and the other guy had 3 small beers on a full stomach over 1.5 hours.
My biz partner said the last time he took our employees there for happy hour that he received bad food and rude service from the same kid.
Kelly's lost a lot of money by alienating a person that owns a 20 person biz nearby. They are officially off of our company happy hour list - where we routinely drop a couple hundred for happy hour.
Lots of better choices in East Liberty. Better food, better drinks, better atmosphere, and nicer wait staff. As a former waitress I was apalled

Rude and disrespectful security. Even ruder owner who thinks he's god. Expensive drinks and poor service. The decor is nice, but save yourself the hassle and go to one of the many bars where they will treat you fairly and respectfully.
Terrible place. Smokey, rude people, food made me sick and the bar manager had no clue what he was doing.
I will never visit this place again, bad food. Only one waitress in the whole place equaled long waits. Ordered Chicken Marsala but what I got was minced up chicken, runny sauce with a few mushrooms, hard microwaved potato and canned green beans. All I can say is beware!

This establishment is a nuisance in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Over-priced, over-done hipster garbage. Pretentious and lousy service with high prices to boot, this is the worst of all worlds. A true sign of the hyper gentrification of East Liberty. Where a real down home BBQ joint might have stood we now have this temple to foodie BS. I wantd to like this place but there was nothing tasty on the menu, everything was over cooked and too smoky. The sides were also rather shoddy. While it is owned by an accomplished chef, his skills do not extend into all realms of cookery. Time to shut down so a trendy yogurt chain can move in!
RUBBISH! No better than the myriad of "best fish sandwich in town" offerings at every bar in the city. Just paying for a view.
I am writing in a response from the District Manager for the Eat'n Park Establishment in McKees Rocks...
I received a letter on June 4, 2014 after having sent in two online complant' forms filled out to the corporate office in Hometead, PA...I had asked for a response from the Prsident/CEO of Eat'n Park...but got a response from the District Manager, Domenic Fricioni....in which he is in complete agreement with the Restaurant Manager...If Mr Fricioni would have surveyed, questioned all the waitresses about me...he would have found me to be a very nice person and customer...except for one Waitress named DOLLY...she has no personality and I can't Understand why she is still working there ....since this Restaurant Chain prides itself in the Corporate Name...HOSPITALITY...this district manager, I believe got his ifo from one person...and the one person is a Manager of the restaurant...and this manager has not been at this restaurant 24/7/365 as I have been patronizing this restaurant in McKees rocks for the last 5 1/2 years...in which...this manager was not in charge during the length of time I have visited...Mr Fricioni should have investigated a little more...Here now is my letters/complaints to Eat'n Park:
had sent in a long complaint...you replied that is was being handled by the District Manager of this McKees Rocks Restaurant...as I said before...I asked to talk to the President and CEO a couple of years ago because of the Lil' Hamburger Sliders...which your Hospitality Group removed from the menu....I have not heard anything...and I don't know if anything was done in this restaurant to individuals...
It was true I was loud and very upset, but my mother did not deserve this Grilled Mushroom, Onion, Swiss Cheese on Sourdough...When I, as a paying customer, not get what I ordered, especially when it is for my mother who is 84 years old and totally handicapped and disabled....I get pissed...wouldn't you if it was your mother...????

I have one problem with only one waitress in this restaurant...her name is Dolly...I took my cousin in for lunch several weeks ago and was sat at a table...This waitress has not one ounce of Personality or Happiness in her body, take a survey of the waitresses and see if there have been complaints lodged against her in the past..... I told her so right there and then with my cousin listening on...I told her that I come in and say hi to most of the waitresses who notice me...I've said hi to her in the past and get no response not even a smile...I had watched her for several years now...she asked if I wanted the manager...I said no...I just wanted her to acknowledge me and greet with a smile and take interest in your customers, especially, if you/she wanted a tip...
I have always asked if the coffee is fresh...I don't like coffee that has been sitting around for an 1 1/2 or longer...ask Alaina in this restaurant if this is true...she has made new coffee in the past, knowing that the coffee had been on the hot plate for a time....One reason is this: when I first started going to Eat"n Park in McKees Rocks 4-5 years ago (I came from California to Sheredan/Pittsburgh, PA to care for my 100 % handicap and disabled mother...I do everything for her...also true...I am disabled too...I have gone through 3 bypass surgeries to get blood to my legs, 2001, 2006. 2010...I should have died in 2006), I walked into the restaurant in the evening with a young dark haired waitress who was high on something, I could smell the coffee when I walked near the hotplate when I was being seated towards the restrooms...I asked the girl if the coffee was Fresh, she stated yes...I pored one creamer in it...and it was still as dark as when she brought it to me....I then asked a different waitress to bring me a fresh cup of coffee...when I was given a new cup from another waitress...I called the original high drug waitress back over...and showed her the difference between old coffee and fresh coffee when I put one creamer in each....total extreme comparison...
Deep Fried Mozzarella Sticks...numerous times I have ordered Mozzarella Sticks and a number of times the cooks Deep Fried the Cheese out of the sticks...all I was left with is Deep Fried Breading...ask Alaina once again...I asked Alaina on the last time I ordered Cheese sticks to let the cooks know that I don't want the cheese melted out of the Breading when Deep Fried....once again...two of the 5 sticks were missing the cheese..Alaina asked if I wanted them to make another batch...I said no...I get down to the last 2 to eat...and it just pissed me off again...especially, when I asked the waitress to let the cooks know...I asked her if she told them...she said "No"
I have seen manager's in the past (think about it...I sit at the counter 99 times out of 100 in the last 5 years of visiting this restaurant) -ie. Anthony tell the cooks when orders were put up under the heater, for the girls to pick up and deliver, to lighten up on the amounts, gravy, ingredients, etc.
all the while...I have befriended many and /or all waitresses, young and old...and have been know as the candy man when I bring sweets and pass out to the girls, cooks, managers...(all Shifts)...Chocolate Kisses, Dove Chocolates (expensive candies) and the like...and just recently gave young Sara and newbie, Cynthia a Mother's Day Card each with a Baby Ruth Candy Bar to go with it...Sara just had her 2nd child and Cynthia is due in August...
and now for today's Episodic Event:
I sat down at the counter like I usually do, got a cup of coffee from Tabitha and waited for her to return...she was at the computer entering a order...Beany, who I call Cecil, from the 1950's-1960's children's TV Show..."Cecil & Beany"...helped Tabitha with my order...when I asked of what I remember in California of Grilled Mushroom & Onion Swiss Burger on Sourdough...Beany pointed it out on the menu, Note, I did not have my glasses...That is what I ordered for my mother, who is 84, totally disabled...she can not wash or even wipe her genitals, stand...she can not do anything...she depends on me...as when I order out...I depend on my servers, Management and more...
I pay my $8.34 and leave a $2.00 Tip
I get home...take the burger and fries out of the to go box to place on a plate for my mother, but set my mom up with a made table top on her lap in her recliner...then place a bib on her...
then I open the box...see the Sourdough Bread not grilled, slightly toasted...and I do mean ever so slightly toasted...a smidgeon of brown....open the sandwich... several-meaning 3 slivers of Mushrooms, a large slice of Onion uncut...my mom has very little teeth and not many more onions at all...the Swiss Cheese is barely visible and the sandwich is dry...no condiments on it...I use to get very large and extremely tasty Grilled Mushroom, Onion, Swiss Burgers in California....
I went back to the McKees Rocks Restaurant and gave the sandwich back to Anthony and said...don't get me mad, upset with this with sandwich...I then revealed the ingredients in their sandwich they gave to me which they expected me to give to my mom...
Many waitresses here know that usually, when I order...I am ordering for my mother...I also give congrats to another Black Young Cook with how my mom liked his cod dinners...
I showed Anthony and told him (Loudly)...that the sourdough was not grilled, you had 3 slivers of mushrooms, a large slice of onion too big for my mom to bite and chew, where "Grilled Onions" are suppose to be a heaping amount of grilled onions not a 1/4 teaspoon of grilled onions on a burger this size for $8.00, and the Swiss Cheese is barely visible...melted off the burger in the cooking preparation....and to top it off...the sandwich is dry, no Condiments...
I was told after the fact, that the only sandwich that comes dry is the Grilled Mushroom Onion, Swiss Burger...who sends out dry sandwiches...In California; the Grilled Mushroom, Onion, Swiss Burger on Sourdough usually came with Thousand Island dressing or Mayo...no one told me this sandwich is comes dry when I ordered it.
I continued to be very vocal, and yes the restaurant had customers....I feel if you're going to send out orders that are not up to par, let alone, totally unacceptable...ask yourself Mr. Trevelyan...if you took this sandwich home to your handicapped mother...how would your "Toleration Level" be...
I was told by Manager James W. Kyle to wait by the door...other customers heard me...and they, like Paul Harvey on the radio "Knew the Rest of the Story" with my mom, my never causing an issue or bother anyone there...passing out my candies to young kids, mothers, dads, grandparents and more...know what the Restaurant is serving up, especially for my mother
Today was the "Straw that Broke the Camel's Back...I have been 86'ed from this restaurant...and truly...I do not care to go back....I prefer to go to Bob Evans on Route 60 near Robinson Mall....and my waitresses there and any where else I go...will here of my complaint with Eat'n Park in McKees Rocks...I am sorry to be this way...but this is how I feel...not only because you affected me...but how they affected my mother.
Thank you, if the president would care to meet with me...I would be willing...but not in the McKees Rocks Restaurant
If I am wrong...please disregard this complaint and go about your business...which is "Hospitality"...if this can't be administered in a more responsible position on the part of Eat'n Park....since the name of your company is "Eat'n Park Hospitality Group"

This place is terrible. Awful service, awful food, awful everything. All they have going is the great location, but they are wasting it. I wish that someone would come in and turn this place around because it could be great. The owners must have no idea what they are doing, because a lot of money is being lost due to the mismanagement of this joint.
I am a customer at the rivers casino and I work in the food industry and impay close attention to their service workers, since I am a fellow waitress. I see this one waitress whomworks her butt off, is very pleasant and is very good with people. Everytime I come to their casino the management is very biased and gives more tables to other people. I pay close attention to how other restaurants work because I was thinking about applying for a waitress position for the wheelhouse. I have seen favoritism and that is completely wrong. I see a hard worker waitress that should be the best waitress there, but I notice the hostess will seat other waitresses more. This is not fair. Somebody hire up that manages food service needs to take a look at the managers there and the employees to make sure that everything is by the book and managers are not showing favoritism.
