Fooled me. Was looking to read about squatters vs jerks, as in weightlifting's clean and jerk and /or dead lift.
Squat on.

Please, somebody, will railway enhancement & route expansion (rebuild of dormant rail line) ever come up? Rail offers most direct means of linking renewables to transport. Ask the Chinese and the Swedes. See "Suntrain Transportation Corporation web page for ideas.

Jake Wheatley is back in this race.
Peduto and Gilman's first concerts both opened with Eddie Money? No way I call fake.
This is the best list ever.
PCC's were trashed in Pittsburgh PA after a accident where a PCC lost breaks coming from South Hills Jct. into Pittsburgh. The car after loosing breaks in transit tunnel jumped tracks and hit the P&LE Rail Roads Fright House in the 90's. Port Authority scrapped most cars and few are used as displays in County and not in use.
So now it is the SEC that is investigating

I guess they will keep on trying,
Drilling and fracking for natural gas has documented health risks, has rendered Pennsylvania's woods and watershed toxic and fundamentally altered, and puts engineering proven to fail over time as a lynchpin of our energy policy. We embrace it knowing it is tragically flawed and guaranteed to render our ecosystems damaged in the present and destroyed over time.
Great to hear about the latest ideas here... But WHEN WILL THEY BE BUILT!? How do we know that next year those tenants will abandon the effort? Can the URA ensure that proposed tenants make good on their commitments?
Although this is otherwise an informative article, I can't let this pass uncommented:
Thelonious Monk is NOT avant-garde. Sure, he was a compositional and improvisational genius,
and the second-most recorded jazz composer of all time. And yes, avant-garde musicians like Steve Lacy and Anthony Braxton have paid massive tribute to Monk. But Monk himself is bebop, hardbop or cool jazz, not avant-garde. And "Epistrophy" is certainly not an avant-garde tune. It was written in 1942, and is one of the most important modern jazz standards.
What the hell do you mean by, "it was a convenient way to escape the border state of West Virginia, as any right-thinking person would want to whether they were slaves or not." I am a true West Virginian, and I never wanted to escape. I love the state of West Virginia, and I am very proud to be a Mountaineer. Chris Potter, why don't you just stick to the facts and leave your opinion out of this article because, frankly, your opinion is rude and offensive on many levels.
I like Girl Talk AND the 12 Days of Christmas!

I find the fact that we even have candidates trying to out-yinzer each other, and generally touting the fact that having spent their entire lives in the City, ridiculous.
Aside from the idea that the diversity of experience and knowledge gained by having lived in other places just might be a good thing, does anybody else think perhaps attracting and retaining new residents just might be helped by, y'know, not actively trying to make them feel unwelcome?
Re: “On the Road”
Kloman, You should probably be a little more considerate and respectful of the movie's source material. The book is neither "unreadable," nor will we "waste time" reading this work that is generally considered a gateway to a new style of literature as well as a new reality for many. Who are you to disagree, you ask. Who are you to proffer an opinion at all. And nice us of Wikipedia. Simply ridiculous, City Paper.
