Re: “Poor Richard's Wexford Alehouse

Food might be decent... The service is another thing all together. Don't waste your time.

Re: “Del’s in Bloomfield gets a makeover from TV chef Robert Irvine and Restaurant Impossible

del's is a fantastic representation of classic, italian-american dining. we have always been treated to wonderful service, portions that are more than sufficient, excellent flavors and a relaxing atmosphere. i am glad to see that they have received a bit of a makeover. go del's!

Re: “The Mintt

Food is ok.But service n room ambience is terrible.
could be more courteous and the hall appearance feels like eating in a basement.

If Urbanspoon is any indication it's worse than it was before the show.

Re: “Thai Suan Thip

This restaurant has obviously improved since Angelique and Jason had their dining experience. Exactly one year has passed since this article was written and I must urge: Please give Thai Suan Thip another chance! I frequent the restaurant and leave satisfied every time. Fair prices, satisfying service, no problems with any ajar doors, exceptionally prepared meals...
>>>>Perhaps the close relation to chinese cuisine was a safety move. Bellevue has never had a Thai restaurant to my knowledge, but does boast a few Chinese Take Out spots. I think easing into the profoundly distinctive flavors of Thai food was a wise choice- if it was a choice at all! Regardless, I have never found their dishes unsatisfying or "not Thai enough" for my taste.
>>>>On a different note, beware of the intimate lighting!! Although responsible for a comfortable and romantic atmosphere, I can't help but think the owners got a little too excited about the dimmer switch. If you have trouble seeing, you may have incredible difficulty reading your menu- VERY dark restaurant.
>>>>Otherwise! Gotta love Thai Suan Thip

Re: “Pho Kim 88

Absolutely love PhoKim! Even if you order take out the food is fresh and orgasmic. They separated the noodles and meat from the broth so it would be fresh when I got home. They take great care in cooking mouth watering pleasure. The prices are very reasonable and the food is bountiful, considering other restaurants I went to. I have gone there since I was 16 and I will eat there until the day I die.

Re: “Nicky's Thai Kitchen

I tell everyone that I know that Nicky's is the BEST kept secret of Pittsburgh. His ingredients are so fresh and he and his staff are extremely talented. I visit Nicky's every week faithfully and encourage anyone who would like to get a true Thai experience to try him out. As stated earlier, in the warmer months he has a relaxing retreat in the back that is landscaped beautifully. I don't think there isn't much that he can't do :)))

Re: “Nicky's Thai Kitchen

I love this place--and the man himself--NICKY! I started working on the North Shore about a year ago, and an ex co-worker took me there. When I drove up on Western Avenue, I wasn't sure what I was walking into. I was walking into Thai Heaven! Every dish I've had (and I've had many) is fabulous! In the warm weather the outdoor dining area truly embodies the term "feng shui"! My dear friend drives from town once a week to pick me up to go to Nicky's for lunch. She too is in love with it, and she's also in love with Nicky.

Re: “Nancetta's

We had a large party at Nanchettas for my nephews baptism dinner on Saturday night and the service was HORRIBLE!!!!! From the moment we walked in the waitress was so RUDE.
We had a large party in the back room. When we first got there we were trying to socialize a bit, she was very agressive, telling us that we sit down right away and get the "kids" out of the way when we only had one 2 yr. old and a newborn. Keep in mind we are in the back room with no one else, but yet the crammed us all on one long L-shaped table. It was very uncomfortable for some because they had to turn around to talk to people. Really? You couldn't have spread us out in that room? We also were seated for 20 min or so before we even got menu's or water! We had reservations for a large party! Why wouln't have this set up! The waitress (I wish that I knew her name) continued to provide HORRIBLE service. Being rude to the parents who were paying the bill. Charged us $20 for cake service, that we had to serve ourselves!!!! Spilled oil on one of our friends as she was clearing the table, gave us additude when she was bringing the food out because she had to ask twice who ordered something, and there is more but I can' t think of them right now.
The food was also not good. The portions were big, but who wants a big potion of mediocre food? Alfredo was (as mentioned above) pasty, wedding soup had NO flavor, and the lemon pepper shrimp was, seemed like, a whole box of penne with four shrimp.
The only part of this experience that we enjoyed was our time that we spent with our family. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever go back there. I have worked in the service industry for 20 years, and it was so irritating for us to be treated that way. So, Nanchettas, you might want to hire some better servers to make up for the lack of flavor in your food,

Re: “Pino's Contemporary Italian

My daughter and I were there last week. The food is excellent and the service was great. I also had the short ribs and agree that the sauce was too heavy, but, it's not actually because it's heavy, it's because they overdo it, saturating the risotto. They would be better off putting the risotto on the side and/or a lighter hand on the sauce. However, not a single bite of mine was anything but fork-tender. I'd go again, however.

Re: “Salvatore's Pizza House

I don't think just because they would not allow you to hang a flyer in the window that you should look elsewhere for service. Salvatores has been in the community for 30 years. I remember them donating food and money to the high school football teams and every year they donate pizzas to the police station for the Halloween party. They are very much involved in the community. I will always be a customer of Salvatores. Their amazing food and service keeps me coming back...whether they allow flyers in their windows or not!

Re: “ALLA FAMIGLIA

Wow... My husband and I have dined at Alla Famiglia several times and had excellent service and not to mention the food was to die for! Best Italian food I have ever had including my Sicilian mother's cooking! That said I am a very picky Italian food eater... And I loved every bite!!!

Re: “North Country Brewing Company

While I enjoy their beer and food, the bartenders are horrible and pretentious. You will wait 10 minutes for a beer while they chitchat away. Yeah I'm talking about you Freeze especially. The hippy guy (Dave?) is okay though. Don't sit at the bar.

Re: “North Country Brewing Company

Thanks for a terrible article!! You could do more than print a half-formed idea as a "column". It would be nice if this article had a few more paragraphs to actually explain what the bar is and where it is and perhaps a photo or two. If someone had never heard or this place, I doubt they would learn a darn thing from this terrible excuse for writing. This "paper" is yet another reason I am often ashamed of Pittsburgh.

Re: “Arsenal Cider House restores the lost art of making cider

I'm not even a big drinker, but I love Arsenal. They have a great product and great customer service. I'm glad they're getting so much recognition in the region.
