Re: “After long wait, Cure adds liquor service

pretentious meat shanks in a backdrop of weed patches and section 8 housing..all at an inflated price point???....splendid. when my beard reaches the requisite length i will fire up my vintage tandem bicycle and put "Cure on my agenda"..as long as my mandolin didgeridoo fusion band doesn’t have practice

Re: “Draai Laag: The new brewery with an old-school approach

Why didn't you mention the other co-owner? It seems like a great brewery, but why leave something so important out? What's the story behind the rest of the brewery??

Re: “Round Corner Cantina keeps its edge with new drink list

My experience has been that Round Corner is straddling the style side of the line much more than the speed side. I was there last Tuesday the 12th for the first time in a year+ and was reminded why it has been so long and why it will longer until my next visit. While the place was fairly busy it was not chaotic but the bartenders and servers struggled to keep up from what I simply honestly have to call ineptitude. If there was chaos it was behind the bar and it showed with many disappointed patrons. I sat at the bar as Ms Fitzgerald herself argued with two 60+ women who came to the bar looking to pay their bill after not seeing their waitress for 15-20 minutes. Ms Fitzgerald told them they were 'exaggerating' about the wait. Maybe they were but I do know that I and members of my party experienced very similar waits. While Ms Fitzgerald did comp the older ladies a round, after they left she spent some time ridiculing them in open earshot of the bar patrons. Drinks coming fast? I think not. Nothing came fast in my experience at the Round Corner except for the employees complaints and commentary about their customers.

Re: “Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week celebrates city's increasing sophistication

@AwwwFool: Sorry about that; the print edition had the URL, but it got cut off in uploading the story to the web. I've restored it above, and in any case the URL is:

Re: “Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week celebrates city's increasing sophistication

Could you at least put in a link to the event? Maybe an event calendar. This article is junk. You are basically saying, "Pittsburgh breweries are getting better and there is an event soon," but not listing anything else. More information please.

And FIRE your editors!

Re: “Arsenal Cider House restores the lost art of making cider

I'm not even a big drinker, but I love Arsenal. They have a great product and great customer service. I'm glad they're getting so much recognition in the region.

No mention of the fact that the Engine House also serves as the Roberto Clemente Museum, which Duane also runs?

Re: “The caipirinha, Brazil's national drink, finds a home in Pittsburgh

No surprise that the bar at "Dish" reflects the creativity of the menu and the establishment's owners. There's good reason that it continues to rank among Pittsburgh's finest restaurants. And the service at the bar is top flight, too.

Re: “Pisco is South American brandy for people who don't like brandy

Thanks for writing an article about Pisco. Unfortunately in the article the bartender mentioned the Chilean Pisco which is absolutely different from the Peruvian Pisco. The best Peruvian Pisco is "Santiago Queirolo", "Biondi", "ocucaje" and... some new brands that recently won international awards. The most famoust coctail made of Peruvian Pisco is "Pisco Sour" which was not mentioned in the article. Here is a link in which there is the recipe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpTcd5FMx8A
