Yeah Gents!
Andre is a true gem. His immense talent is matched by a phenomenal personality. It's very satisfying to see someone of his caliber getting recognized.
I received a copy of his album when he performed at the Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville. It is a great piece of work. Thank you Andre!

I really congratulate you on your exceptional work, DT! The writing, the performances, the recordings are fabulous!!! Of course, bringing together so many of the Burg's elite musicians makes it really awesome!!!
I just watched the video of this guy. I would call what I saw on the video as old fashioned "jug band music". It's what Jerry Garcia did before he was in the Grateful Dead and what John Sebastian did before and after The Lovin' Spoonful. Good stuff!
Yay elliott :D
entry level hipster shit.
dont assume its good since its local
MORE DAZZLETINE PLEASE
I wish more Garfield Art Works shows got this kind of exposure! Kudos Bowman!
"boutique indie labels"
I think these guys raided my mom's closet.
A piece of art from Puerto Rico in Pittsburgh. For a lot of Latinos in Pittsburgh, who might come with one purpose and end up staying a life time, being able to hear Gena and Machete play is a sweet treat. Gracias, mija!
Love,
Gloria
I am so glad you covered Gena. She is one of our wonderful artists that everyone should know about.
I'm glad the Manglers waited 10 years to start recording again. Why should they be like every other band and pollute the airways with meaningless dribble, just to say they 'recorded something!' The world can wait for quality, and so can I. Rock on, Manglers!
Nothing like hearing and reading about other musicians honing there skills and making music there own. Thanks for the contribution, Rory and Cobain. I appreciate the support that you continue to emulate locally and globally with Hip Hop flavour, not rap...

Dan Rugh does own CWPress, but Dan Rock actually is the manager there -- I should've been more specific for sure. So many Dan. I'm beginning to feel left out of this Dan party.
I'm pretty sure Dan Rugh runs Commonwealth, not Dan Rock. (Dan Rock ran Panic Buttons, I think - a button company.)
Re: “East Liberty Quarters revives electro-boogie”
Yeah Lets celebrate non-musicians in this city full of expert experienced and skilled musicians. "This is my first foray into actually being in front of people, playing an instrument. I was definitely nervous as hell." You don't write about actually muscians who have paid their dues already, but you'll write about some nube who can play a record. There's plenty of real muther f*ckers out here working for a living, find one and write about him or her. You might be surprised .
