The 2013 PittsBurgher

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site Saturday Sept. 14th at Rivers Casino for the 2013 PittsBurgher! The PittsBurgher is a gourmet burger competition featuring a handful of restaurants around Pittsburgh competing for the best in the Burgh.

Some of the participants were Luke Wholey's in the Strip, Latitude 40 and Redbeards.

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site at The 16th Annual Shadyside Arts Festival on August 24th.The Art Festival on Walnut Street, which started out as a neighborhood street fair, is now regarded as one of the top shows in Pittsburgh.

Bark in the Dark!

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site at Animal Friends' Bark in the Dark on Saturday August 24th at Hartwood Acres. Animal Friends' Bark in the Dark is a Pledge walk and summer festival with appearances by Comedian Jim Krenn and tons of vendor shopping.

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site at the WYEP's 16th Annual Summer Music Festival on June 28. WYEP's 16th Annual Summer Music Festival was held at Schenley Plaza. The festival was a free summer music concert, complete with kids activities and an indie craft marketplace.

The 17th Annual Great European Beer Festival

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site at The 17th Annual Great European Beer Festival on June 28. The country’s only all European Beerfest of it’s kind for 17 years, featured only European beers that are brewed in Europe. The event was held under a large tent sunshine or rain! Admission included 3 hours of tasting all the different beers that Sharp Edge had to offer. Upon entering you receive an official “Sharp Edge Tasting Glass” that was yours to keep. Your name will be entered into a drawing to win beer-related items during the last hour of each session.

2013 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site at the 2013 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival from June 7 - June 16. Three Rivers Arts Festival quickly grew from the “little outdoor art show” to what is today the region’s largest multidisciplinary showcase of visual art and performing arts. This year there were performances by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, River City Brass Band & more.

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site Sunday June 2 for Mutt Strut, Animal Friends’ dog walk and 5K! Mutt Strut included a pledge walk, vendor fair and had plenty of pet-friendly activities! And best of all, it supports Pittsburgh’s premier companion animal resource center!

MuckFest MS

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site Saturday May 25 in Wampum for the Pittsburgh MuckFest™ ! MuckFest™ MS is the nation’s best mud and obstacle fun-run. Made with mud, sweat and cheers, the five-mile course featured a gauntlet of muck-filled mazes, pits and craters with over twenty gigantic steel obstacles. The fun didn't stop when you slide over the finish line, there was beer, great food and music.

PyroFest

Pittsburgh City Paper was on-site Saturday May 25 at Hartwood Acres for PyroFest! PyroFest is an affordable community event to promote & celebrate the international art of Pyrotechnics through innovative & unique presentations. PyroFest was sure to amaze everyone with thrilling new displays, including a display by the world-renowned, award winning Ricardo Caballer Ricasa, who brought their amazing display direct from Spain - a premier fireworks show that has never been performed in the United States. "Rock Loves II" presented an innovative, power-packed "sequel" display to top the award winning "Rock Loves." Techniques and products from around the globe came together effortlessly in an array of pyrotechnic displays to include both daytime and nighttime fireworks that dazzled everyone with a thrilling sensory and visual experience they will never forget.
