A local blogger and bookseller is offering “small press roulette” to readers, while a new online and print literary review seeks writers.

Karen Lillis calls Small Press Roulette “bookselling meets matchmaking” for readers of indie publishers and underground creators.

It works like this: Name your price (between $2 and $20) and a basic genre (fiction, poetry, comix, zines, creative nonfiction, lit mags, memoir or “complete surprise), and she’ll send you some books she thinks you’ll love.

Lillis is a novelist and writer who acknowledges that stock for her online bookselling is “taking over [her] writing room.”

Meanwhile, the Hour After Happy Hour Writing Workshop has extended its calls for submissions for its fledgling After Happy Hour Review until Feb. 21.

The new, biannual online and annual print journal seeks poetry, fiction, nonfiction and visual art for its inaugural issue, slated for release March 27.

The release will coincide with a reading at Assemble art space, in Garfield.

The workshop, founded by Mike Good and Dean Matthews in 2012, has funding from Sprout.

Details about submitting are here.
