Pittsburgh International Airport calls for performers

Ever wanted to serenade travelers as they scramble to and from gates in our very own Pittsburgh airport? Now’s your chance: The Allegheny County Airport Authority will be expanding its Performing Arts program at Pittsburgh International Airport in 2015, and is inviting musicians, ensembles, groups, and performing artists of all genres to submit an application to perform.

They are seeking all styles of performers and musicians, as long as you are entertaining enough for travelers and airport employees. If you are chosen to participate, you will be given performance opportunities throughout the year to compliment pre-existing programming at PIT.

The Airport Authority is also planning on launching a weekly Friday afternoon live music series in February 2015 that will alternate between the Airside and Landside Terminal to entertain both travelers and non-ticketed individuals forced to pick their loved ones up from the airport.

The application deadline is Nov. 7. For information on applying, visit the airport's website.
