Hey blogreaders! Sup?
Just dropping you a line to let you know about an Important Event that did not make this past week's print edition. You know Das Racist? That funny smart Brooklyn hipster hip hop outfit that does the song about being at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell? The one that's all over Pitchfork and Stereogum and all those other websites you read? They're at The Shop tonight in Bloomfield. It's $8, and at a pretty sweet little venue, and will probably be pretty packed and fun. The most fitting local opener -- Mrs. Paintbrush, aka Jackson from Grand Buffet ("P-I-L-L-B-U-G-S: If they made honey would you eat it?") -- plays as well, and an all-star team of DJs (Edgar Um, Selecta and Cutups) spins. The Shop is at 4314 Main St. in Bloomfield: it's a little door across from that Japanese steakhouse right where Main breaks off of Liberty Avenue.
Doors at 7, show at 8.
You're welcome!
