Local raunch-metal trio Chip DiMonick released its album Sick Definition of Fun just last week. The title comes from this today's Mp3 Monday track, "Bloodbaths in America," a musical rant against violence in the media: "The Nielsen ratings say CBS Murder is number one / Seeing death and brutality is our sick definition of fun."
Speaking of which, we suspect DiMonick's raunchy riffs and horny hooks are mainly in good fun -- with titles like "Life Imitates Porn" how could they not be? But the liner notes do include the plea, "Let's not contribute to any more bloodbaths in America. If you have thoughts about hurting yourself or someone else, call the re:solve Crisis Network at 1-888-7-YOU-CAN." It's a good thought, Chip, and worth repeating here alongside the free download of "Bloodbaths in America." Enjoy!
corrected, thank you!
Thanks to Tim Wood, an old friend in our industry, for suggesting that I listen…
The performance is actually on February 28th which is the following weekend, not the 21st.
