The locally produced and grass-roots funded documentary Blood Brother, directed by Steve Hoover, won big last weekend at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, which tracks the life journey of a disillusioned young American man who winds up caring for AIDS orphans in India, won both the Jury Prize and Audience Award for Best Documentary.
Variety, reviewing the film at Sundance, described the film as "engaging and joyful," and said "documentaries don't come any bigger-hearted."
