Meeting tonight on Thunderbird expansion in Lawrenceville

Posted By on Mon, Dec 17, 2012 at 4:29 PM

This is a late-breaking one here, so I don't have a ton of details: For the past few years, there have been rumors about a possible expansion at Thunderbird Cafe, the bar and music venue in Lawrenceville. I contacted the owners in 2010 on the topic and they told me weren't ready to talk about it because the plans weren't set; again this summer I was contacted by their partners at Grey Area Productions about the expansion being imminent, but when I tried to contact the owners, I didn't hear back.

According to the venue's website, though, a meeting will be held tonight to discuss the possible expansion and what it would mean for the community in the vicinity of the venue. According to the notice, the meeting will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Arsenal Middle School auditorium, at 40th and Butler, down the street from Thunderbird. The plans will be discussed and comments will be taken.
