Braddock Library holiday sale

Posted By on Fri, Dec 7, 2012 at 1:07 PM

Yes, we know — everybody and his Handmade Arcade is doing their big holiday sale this weekend. But here’s one more — and it takes place at, and benefits, the Braddock Carnegie Library.

The all-day sale features work by Braddock artist Victoria Hruska. Hruska, 91, is known for her decorative artworks made from repurposed materials, from old bottles and greeting cards to eggshells, compact discs and wallpaper. (An exhibit of her work is also currently on display as part of the Artist in the Library Series.) She's accomplished enough to have been exhibited at the Mattress Factory.

Work by 10 other local artisans will also be featured at the library, as will work by members of the Ujamaa Collective.

Another offer: Fill up a hand-printed tote bag with books from the book sale for just $10.

The Holiday Gift Sale & Celebration takes place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The library is located at 419 Library St.
