The Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus today chose their leadership team for the 2013-14 session.
"By working as a strong and unified group for the last two years, House Democrats were able to defeat some of the most extreme proposals from the right wing of the Republican Party. But the struggle against an extreme and destructive agenda must continue," said the leadership group jointly in a press release, "because the next two years promise continued painful budget choices and a renewal of tough legislative battles.
Continuing in their leadership roles are:
Democratic Leader: Frank Dermody, 33rd District (Allegheny County)
Democratic Whip: Mike Hanna, 76th District (Clinton and Centre counties)
Caucus Chairman: Dan Frankel, 23rd District (Allegheny County)
Policy Committee Chairman: Mike Sturla, 96th District (Lancaster County)
Appropriations Committee Chairman: Joe Markosek, 25th District (Allegheny and Westmoreland counties)
Caucus Secretary: Ron Waters, 191st District (Philadelphia and Delaware counties).
Caucus Administrator: Neal Goodman, 123rd District (Schuylkill County).
Swearing-in day for all members of the new General Assembly is Jan. 1, 2013. Earlier day, the Republican caucus appointed its leadership team.
