Proceed Safely. We Really Mean It.

That newish pedestrian bridge that connects Shadyside to the liquor-store parking lot at the EastSide development (a.k.a. The Way of Whole Foods) does provide a handy short-cut over the busway and railroad tracks. It's not very long — a handful of yards — but it's recently been updated with traffic lines to keep all manner of pedestrains and cyclists safely in order.

By my count, I see: a clear double-yellow center line forbidding traveling willy-nilly and weaving all over the place; two northbound and southbound lanes, each incorporating a legal passing lane; and two shoulders, just in case.

Let's be careful out there, people.
