Side by Side: the Science, Art and Impact of Digital Cinema, a new documentary from Christopher Kenneally, looks at the history of digital filmmaking, its current state co-existing with film, and the rewards and challenges of working with this new medium in a transitional time. Various directors and industry folks weigh in, including digital proponents James Cameron and George Lucas, as well as digital-resisting cinematographer Wally Pfister, who lensed the Batman trilogy.
