Taking Bets Now: What Will be in the former Arsenal Bank Safes?

Posted By on Thu, Sep 6, 2012 at 10:56 AM

Tender Bar and Kitchen owner Jeff Catalina is live tweeting this morning the attempt to crack the safes at the former Arsenal Bank at the intersection of 43rd and Butler streets. Follow him @TenderPGH.

The six locked safes in a back room, each with a double combination, were probably installed during a remodeling of the bank in the 1920s or '30s.

Catalina told the City Paper that he expects to find them empty, but "I'm self-financing this restaurant, so maybe I'll get lucky."
